MiniSAS Cable copper cables can be customized in length

switches extend the capabilities of SAS, and harness the performance of DAS as a SAN configuration. Whether it’s DAS, a SAN or a little of each, Jupiter can be set up to personal preference. With the Jupiter 16-port Enterprise Switch, sixteen non-blocking 24 Gb/s SAS wide ports provide zoning and extended cable length support for blazing speeds even over extended distances with extremely low latency. Jupiter has fourteen external SAS connectors for SAS initiators and targets that use passive cables, and two external active External MiniSAS Cable connectors for active or passive cables for maximum flexibility. The Jupiter 16-Port Enterprise Switch can be managed in two ways – in-band via the Jupiter Control Center Application or via embedded software for out-of-band management.

QSFP+ AOC assembly products in the market

3M new QSFP+ active optical cable assembly provides high-speed transmission over 100 meters of multimode fiber for high-performance computing and other ultra high-throughput networking environments. The 3M QSFP+ AOC assembly transmits four parallel channels each operating at 10 Gbps and is designed to meet the SFF-8436 standard, which is compatible with Infiniband QDR and 10G Ethernet standards. Using industry leading Vcsel technology and a new fiber coupling design, the 3M QSFP+ AOC assembly provides excellent performance value and is cost effective. The QSFP+ interface is a 38p paddlecard with 19 contacts populated on each side of the PCB.  QSFP active optical cables are a high performance, low power consumption, long reach interconnect solution supporting 40G Ethernet, fiber channel and PCIe.

SFF-8088 cable is designed to connect external

I would connect the card with SFF-8088 bracket (assume the length of 0.5m). Another SFF-8088 cable bracket on a hard disk enclosure should fan out to 4x SATA ports with intention to be used with sata disks (assume the length of 0.5m). What would be the maximum recommended length of the external SFF-8088 to SFF-8088 cable?12 hard drives, attached by a single SFF-8088 cable -- looks attractive! I've seen user reports on the web that say this combo works amazingly well. The T10 technical committee of the International Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS) develops and maintains the SAS protocol; the SCSI Trade Association (SCSITA) promotes the technology.QSFP+ (Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable) to MIniSAS SFF-8088 cable hybrid cables are designed for high-density Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) applications.
